— LOADS of new features since this video was released: —
• "Auto Smart Mode" that searches commenter's usernames and comment text for common spammer signatures – Can detect nearly 100% of spammers and has a near 0% false positivity rate.

• Ability to not only delete, but instead 'Hold For Review' or Report for spam

• ANYONE can now help fight spammers by reporting spammers found while scanning videos/channels other than their own (only video uploader can delete obviously)

• Many other custom scanning modes: Scan by individual unicode characters, by strings, even by custom regex expression

• Ability to scan commenter's usernames as well as all comment text, or both simultaneously

• Config file that lets you set any options, so it won't ask for them every time you run

• Using config file, in certain configurations, program can be run COMPLETELY AUTONOMOUSLY (though to do so you'll have to separately set up running it automatically on a schedule with some other program)

• Colors for easier reading of menus and messages

• Config files are now in Rich Text 'RTF' format – Also with colors! Makes it much easier to quickly scan matched comments

• Program now displays a 'sample' of each matched author and one of their comments, and gives ability to exclude them from deletion

• 'Recovery Mode' option to re-instate previously deleted comments. Requires the log file from when they were deleted, or at least the list of comment IDs.

One scam is hey I need a sugar baby I'll send you money you just talked to me and text me after I get off work have somebody to talk to and I will send you money she said I said okay send me money first on my prepaid credit card or prepaid as you go store bought debit card and says I have to send you a check. Okay you can send me a check but for some money on my card first let me know you're not bullshitting and she won't do it and this is on Twitter. I just blocked her

Time to terminate some bots

All these comments like the one below with 23 replies dated 6 months ago, look like spam to me. They always mention that this channel was satirical years ago. Maybe yes, but why always writing the same. That sounds like flagrant spamming

I am a front-end developer, and I do use python.

all of this can be done in javascript, if you're familiar with it, it's much easier than using python.

because it is designed to do all of this.
you can even use html to build the UI.

I have made several userscript using google api.

all the user needs to do is provide the api key.

however google will "purge" all userscript next year by forcing manifest V3.

so you have to convert it to an extension…publishing extensions is not free.

Also, if you reply the bot calling them out, your comment disappears shortly after. If you report the account as spam, youtube doesn't care and they do nothing about it. Basically the spam bots are part of youtube's infrastructure and they don't want to stop them.

Maybe you could do something similar for an extension to remove certain comments.

Those spam comments that YouTube doesn’t care about are like “H@ll@ W@lc@me t@ Wh@ts @pp @nd y@u n@@d t@ p@y f@r it in @rder t@ us@ it” so this is the best tool to stop those comments.

Facebook is also really bad about deleting scammers' accounts and comments. I have reported many scammers on Facebook and Facebook keeps telling me that they have not violated its policy.

8:37 note that the application doesnt actually "freeze" its just that when you click anywhere on the console, the prompt will switch to navigation which lets you freely scroll and move your cursor around the console, and because of that the whole service halts in order not to interrupt you while navigating, as everytime the display updates it takes you straight to the bottom content (notice the cursor gets thicker)
this fact means you dont really need to close the task and rerun the scan you just have to resume the procedure by pressing any (if you know its still functional) key and the system unhalts itself
